I Feel Human Again!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh.  It is so nice to stand up without shaking or almost passing out!  I have had pneumonia since last Thursday, and today is the first day where I don't feel like I'm going to die!  That's a pretty good feeling.  For the past week, I've been coughing, achy, tired, and sickly.  I've dropped a lot of weight because eating sounds so terribly bad, and I haven't showered for a few days because I can't stand up for more than about 30 seconds.  That is going to change in like ten minutes though.  When we found out it was pneumonia yesterday, I got a lot of antibiotics which are finally making me feel like a person again!  I am so grateful for medicine, not that I use it all the time, but it can really help you get better.

I keep singing this song today.  Have a great day, and don't get pneumonia!

An octopus, guitar, and a cat

Okay, the Octopus playing guitar won.  I'll try to get it done in the next few weeks.  I just have to figure a few things out before I can start.  And guess what!?  We got a cat three days after the Remembering Felix post!!!!!   Oh my goodness, she is so cute.  I don't have any pictures of her right now, but I will put some up soon.  Her name is P.J. and she is awesome, yet strange...but so is every cat on this planet.  Sometimes cats seem to be possessed, and if you have every had a cat you know what I am talking about.  Anywho, I love her to death, and can't wait to post some pictures of her!  Have a great day everybody!

Remembering Felix

February 20, 2011.  My kitty, Felix, had to be put to sleep because his back legs had become paralyzed.  It was one of the worst days of my life.  Today marks one year after his death.  Here are some pictures of the handsome little guy.  Click to make bigger:

Minutes after we got him.  He didn't even have a name yet

He LOVED sleeping on the piano

Or on the chair

He was so cute!  We had never had a cat before and we were all fascinated with him!  He would do the strangest things, make the weirdest noises, and could make his tail REALLY big.  We loved the stuffing out of him.

This is the day he died.

I miss him so much.  He was one of the best things that ever happened to my family.  He made my brother get a soft side, made my family into cat people, and gave us some great experiences.

Have a good day today.  Mine will probably be spent looking on KSL on the cat adoption page.  That is what my dad and I did yesterday.  Hopefully we can find a new family member soon!

Globe Sculpture

Yesterday I made this AWESOME little sculpture!  It turned out so cute!  I'm just sorry the pictures turned out so blurry.  Click to make bigger.

See? It is so small!  AND... The globe actually spins!  I love it so much!  And do you like the background in the first picture?  It looks like a library!  This sculpture makes me pretty happy!  Have a good Sunday everybody!

Make those negatives positive I say!

Today was a day that I did not care for.  Want to know why?  If you don't, go away.  (this starts out negative but gets better as it progresses)
  • It was the first day of the new semester.
  • I don't have a geography class anymore.  :(
  • I don't get my math homework.
  • I don't feel like being social, so when people talk to me, I get annoyed.  But they still don't know that they are annoying me, so they keep on talking.  Erg.
  • I don't have guitar lessons to look forward to tomorrow, 'cause I'm not taking anymore.
  • The weather is COLD.
  • I don't have any classes with one of my friends.
  • My computer isn't working (I'm on my dad's) so I can't post day 4 of my drawing challenge.
  • I miss my kitties.
  • I can't get the fingerprints off my guitar.  It looks kind of nasty.
I guess I just need to keep these seven words in mind:  "Life is hard and then you die"  A really wise person said that.  They knew that I would have days like this, where this quote would help it all make sense.
Wow.   This is a very negative post.  Okay, now I will try to make my list into things to be thankful for.  Here goes:
  • It was the first day of the new semester.  Now I have different people in my classes so I can make new friends.
  • I don't have a geography class anymore, but now I have a World Civilization class where I can learn about new and exciting things.  (that was pretty forced, I LOVED that class)
  • I don't get my math homework... I have no idea how to turn that into a positive.
  • I don't feel like being social, but at least I have friends that talk to me.
  • I don't have guitar lessons anymore, but I can practice on my own since I have some experience.
  • The weather is cold.  At least I don't have a painful sunburn.
  • I may not have classes with this particular friend, but now I might not get distracted/in trouble because I won't be talking to her during class.
  • My computer isn't working, but I have a lot of other computers at my house.  I am spoiled rotten.
  • I miss my kitties, but I have a heart, and I got to experience the good things that they brought to my life.
  • I can't get the fingerprints off my guitar, but at least I have a guitar, and I can still play it just as well as if it didn't have the fingerprints on.
There.  I don't feel so bad about myself now that I have turned my negatives into positives!  Is not me awesome? :)  I need to be a more positive person.  I am really good at being negative, but I need to learn how to turn them into positives.  This was a good way to start.  Hmm,  maybe I should keep a notebook with me at all times where I can write  away the negatives  (right the wrong--write the wrong)  ah ha ha ha.  I crack myself up (she said sarcastically).  Anywho, I hope you all can turn your negatives into positives today... and everyday.  Have a great day!

30 Day Drawing Challenge: Day 3

Hey people!  Here is my drawing for the day 3 challenge. Click to make bigger.

DAY 3:  Favorite Place

Ah yes, the great outdoors!  Yeah, I started drawing random stuff, which turned into trees, so then I thought, "this is your picture for day 3" and it was.  I love being outside, even though I haven't been out much with the cold weather lately.  I really like this picture!  I think it turned out pretty awesome!  I hope you like it as much as I do, because it is simple, yet awesome!  I'll try to keep up with this challenge, but I am not very good at coming up with good pictures.  See ya!

Sarah is HOME!

Hey!  Sarah came home from her mission in the Philippines on December 20!  Sorry I haven't put this post up yet!  But here is the day in pictures (and a few captions.)  I would suggest that you look at all the pictures!  It is pretty great!  And yes, some of our facial expressions are extremely strange, I know.

Waiting

Still waiting

I like Nate's smile a lot!

By all the flags of everyone's missions

Sigh.  Do you know how great it is to get your siblings back?  Words cannot describe that amazing feeling!  Even though we did this 12 days after Nate got home, the feelings were just as strong.  I love having Nate and Sarah back!  They have amazing stories to tell, and they have grown up so much.  It is fun to have six people home, but we're still one person short.  I can't wait for the day that Jake comes home and we are all back together.  Oh man, this has been such a crazy month!  I can't wait until I am old enough to go on a mission of my own!  I want to be able to have the experiences that my mom, dad, sister and brother have had, and that my brother is having.  Becca and I are both looking forward for that day!  I'm glad there will be a few years in between Jake and Becca's missions.  We can have our family together (and probably plus an in-law or two, maybe a kid thrown in too.  Who knows)  Anywho, Sarah is home!

Wow.  This post is ending right at 12:00 on 1/1/12.  So I'll say "I hope you had a good year, and that the new year to come will be good too!
